Description

DETAILS The Bradley timepiece features raised hour markers that allow you to feel the time by touch: a triangular marker for twelve, elongated line segments for three, six, and nine, and shorter line segments for the other markers. Two magnetized ball bearings travel around the watch face in separate, recessed tracks: one track around the center of the watch face's surface for the minute, and one track around the outside edge of the watch face for the hour. To tell the time by touch, simply run your finger over the raised hour markers, feeling the markers where the ball bearings are located. If either ball bearing moves out of place, shake your wrist and they will snap back to the correct locations. Bought this watch after the founder's TEDx talk. Their mission for promoting universal design is inspiring. I have to say I'm absolutely impressed by this watch - the design and quality of it. I've been wearing this watch daily for more than couple of months, and it is not my favorite watch (out of about dozen watches I have).Pros: the design is very unique and it draws attention whenever I wear it. It's a great conversation starter. The white face ring is made of ceramics and it's very durable and scratch resistant. The white leather strap is also quite good quality for its price. I'm not blind, but it is still useful when I need to know the time during a boring team meeting. One best thing about this watch is that now I can check time by touching it without having to look at it during meetings or during conversation with others. I was curious how securely the two metal balls captured inside the "tracks" - whether or not the metal balls would every fall out of the tracks, but they are very securely captured and it doesn't seem they would ever fall out.Cons: The size could be a little big if you have a very small wrist. I checked their website and they have two 36mm diameter models, but this one is 40mm in diameter. Telling time by touching it could take a little bit of time. It took me about a week, but it is not faily easy to know time by touching it. You also need to clean the track once in a whilte (but it's faily easy and it takes literally 20 seconds. Conclusion: I absolutley love this watch.
