Named after the Wagner opera, the signature Parsifal collection balances symmetry and harmony with a powerful, valiant outlook befitting of the opera's hero. The Don Giovanni collection, named after Mozart's comedic opera, blends daring design with advanced technical prowess, and the Don Giovanni Cosi Grande mechanical chronograph is hand assembled by Raymond Weil's finest watchmakers. Over the years, Raymond Weil has introduced a number of other series that helped the company become an enigmatic leader of the Swiss watch industry, including the Othello, with its discreet design that emphasizes strength of character and uncompromising beauty, and the sophisticated, color-stained-crystal Traviata. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, Raymond Weil watches are manufactured entirely in the Swiss watchmaking universe. The company's signature motto--"Independence is a state of mind"--is a reminder of its desire to conceive timepieces that are different, elegant and modern, while at the same time displaying all the rigor of watchmaking excellence.

I purchased this for a gift and was expecting everything to match what I saw in the photograph via the Amazon.com website. Unfortunately, I selected the stainless steel with 18K gold trim on the watch band and the watch case (I should have purchased the 100% stainless steel watch with NO gold trim). The watch case was fine and the gold looked good on the watch case itself, but the watch band was ridiculous because there was only gold trim on the area of the watch band close to the watch case. Thus the gold trim was only on about half of the watch band. I have never seen short-cuts like this before in a watch with gold trim. It really looked like a cheap way out to save a little money, but the gold is clearly missing on half of the watch band. The photo did not show that you would only see gold on the front part of the watch band and thus the back side of the band where the buckle fastener is has absolutely NO gold visible. Again, it looks stupid and not appropriate to have gold on only half of the watch band. It's like having the front of pair of pants made out of really nice material, but the back side of the pants having cheaper rough material. Again, the gold does not go all the way around the watch band. It simply looks stupid that way -- and have never seen this done before to save money. I returned that watch for this specific reason. The product specification should have listed the watch as having gold on only half of the watch band -- only the part of the band visible in the photo.
